Am I alone in feeling like the whole house is a sparce and barren expanse when the Christmas decor comes down?!! I have been looking around and everything feels so empty! I’ve been thinking “What did I have there?…Wait! What did I have there?” I was feeling blue (yes that is totally a hint as to what I chose), and needed something to get me out of this post Christmas funk! Enter…dun, dun, dun…the color blue!
Don’t get too excited, I still love all white everything but I was inspired by a rug that I found and decided to build the space around it! I get tons of inspiration from both Instagram and Pinterest (Follow me HERE and HERE) and am swooning over navy, grey and blush this winter. It has the most romantic and laid back feel. Thus a decor theme was born!
I would like to hereby announce that adding in color is super easy if your base decor is neutral. I keep our walls, furniture and bedding neutral for a purpose. If I get a wild idea and want to add some color I can do it with ease. If I had a purple couch (real life…I had a boss with an enornormous microfiber purple couch. Her husband had to have been the kindest man alive.) it would be so much harder to easily switch up decor with the seasons!
First I added this gorgeous rug from Joss and Main. It was on sale after Christmas and I almost felt guilty that I spent so little for such a huge rug…almost!
I brought in a variety of blue and cream pillows in varying patterns (totally fine if you stick within the same color palette). I also left our faux fur cream pillows that I had out for Christmas for texture. The pillows are from Joss and Main as well and you can check those out HERE, HERE and Here!!
To pull in some blush accents I purchased these faux flowers from Amazon…so affordable in comparison to the pricing at other stores. I also picked up this vintage style blue and white planter to hold the flowers. I know its a bit early to be decorating with peonies, but…I do what I want!! Just kidding! It is my humble opinion that if you really love something you can incorporate it in a way that works! I’m really loving the way these flowers add a blush punch and a romantic feel to the space! My sweet little pink orchid adds to the blush too!
Lastly I picked up these AH-mazing vintage blue and white porcelain pots for a steal as well the smaller bud vase is a Wayfair find and came in a set of three, and the larger vase is from Joss and Main and also came in a set of three!
Im so happy with how the living room refresh turned out! I’m working on a really great DIY that I can’t wait to share with you in a bit too so stay tuned!! If you loved this post and want to sign up for the mailing list you can do so below!!
